Office of Institutional Equity and Accessibility (OIEA)
As part of the College’s commitment to ensuring equal opportunity, equal rights, and equal protections within an inclusive and respectful academic and work environment, the Office of Institutional Equity and Accessibility (OIEA) coordinates the College’s compliance with a range of civil rights laws and regulations related to discrimination and harassment based on protected characteristics – including Title IX, Section 504, Title VI, and the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act.
OIEA serves as a centralized resource for reporting concerns of discrimination and harassment, sexual misconduct, retaliation, and hazing.
OIEA oversees the Policy Against Harassment Based On Protected Characteristics, Student Disability Grievance Policy, and Protection of Minors Policy. The office ensures fair and equitable processes for responding to all reports, seeks to facilitate effective resolutions, and coordinates supportive measures for students, faculty, staff, and other campus community members.
In addition to its response efforts, OIEA provides evidence-informed prevention training and awareness initiatives for students, faculty, and staff.
At its core, OIEA strives to prioritize meaningful support, care, and integrity in every aspect of its work.
